Simonetta Fontani

She was born in Florence, where she works in her studio. Her exhibition activity is intense, with national and international exhibitions and competitions, where she has received important awards (such as the “Fiorino d’Oro” at the XXIV “Premio Firenze”). Among the many solo shows, in public and private venues, we mention the recent ones in Palazzo Panciatichi in Florence (headquarters of the Tuscany Region), in the Sala delle Eroine in Pontassieve (Florence), at the “Ventre Culturel Aragon Triplet” in Orly (France), in Conference Room of the “Sassi Foundation” Cultural Association of Matera. She exhibited at “Casa Italia” on the occasion of the Olympic Games in Beijing and for the Winter Games in Vancouver and as part of the Universal Exposition in Milan. Selected for exhibitions in Luxor, London, Wakayama, Berlin and Stockholm, she has exhibited in international fairs in Italy and abroad. Her works are found in private and public collections in Italy, Brazil, Japan, Scotland, the United States. One of her works has been chosen as the cover image for the European Conference of Cities twinned with the Saharawi people, sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, traveling in Europe.
