Franco Margari

Franco Margari lives and works in Florence. He began his artistic experience as a graphic artist in the 80s and specialized in engraving techniques; from the early 90’s he has also devoted himself to painting. He participated in numerous prestigious group shows and set up many solo shows in art galleries and public venues. In 2004 he won the “Fiorino d’Oro” for painting at the international “Florence Award”. In the early 2000s he was part of the artistic movement “NE5” and of the experimental group “KPK” (Kantiere post Kontemporaneo) with which he set up installations of great importance in Florence and expanded his experience also in the field of contemporary performance. In 2008 he exhibited at the Italian art pavilion in Beijing, on the occasion of the Olympic games, and in 2010 he began a collaboration with the Damoka Gallery and exhibited in solo in Los Angeles and New York.
In recent years he has exhibited in galleries and public institutes in Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Stockholm and Moscow. In 2019 he won the “Fiorino d’Argento” for Graphics at the “Premio Firenze”. Many of his works are in public and private collections.
