Thanks to his family Antonio Presutti began his artistic experience at a young age. His older brother, Stefano, who eventually became an art teacher, attended the school of Cerreto, near Benevento, directed by the prominent artist Valente Assenza. Those were the 60s when Antonio attended his first art workshop and he soon gained experience in drawing, painting and ceramics. He later trained and perfectioned his technique in Assenza’s atelier, following the traditional stages for the preparation of the canvases and the mixing of colors. He closely observed his work, sometimes even posing for him and collaborating on his paintings or restoring wooden sculptures. This sort of apprendiceship started in the late 60s, when his teacher and mentor praised his talent, urging him to continue and that is what he has done for the last fifty years. From the age of 16 he has been awarded recognition and many art prizes. Today he is a meber of the Samnium art school in Telese Terme. Some of Presutti’s artworks are part of private collections and public spaces.
